Upon opening in 2009, we were lucky to be an immediate hit, and we’ve remained busy with a great mix of locals and visitors alike. Since then, Elevation 486 has become widely recognized as the #1 destination for dining and cocktails in all of Southern Idaho. Our eclectic menu offers an irresistible blend of small plates to share, American steakhouse classics, fresh seafood, wild game, unique pasta dishes, and much more. Our classic, creative, and contemporary cuisine offers something for every appetite.

Our award-winning wine list offers a diverse selection of reasonably priced wines that complement any of the delicious menu offerings. The atmosphere is comfortable and warm, intimate yet lively. Our spectacular outdoor terrace overlooks the Snake River Canyon and is popular from mid-May through October. Elevation 486 has recently been recognized by Idaho’s Best Business Awards as the 2022 Best Restaurant and the 2022 Best Fine Dining.

Our Name

We are blessed to be in this one-in-a-million location, perched on the south rim of The Canyon, in the great state of Idaho, 486 vertical feet above the magnificent Snake River. On a clear day, you can see Soldier Mt. to the northwest, the Pioneer Range due north, and Pomerelle Mt. to the east. What they say is true - location is everything!

The Bar

The long and welcoming bar, cozy fireside tables, signature cocktail menu, and spectacular views combine to make Elevation 486 just about the most popular watering hole in town.

Here you can relax around the large central fireplace and enjoy a bite to eat, a hand-crafted cocktail, one of 16 wines by the glass, or one of 12 ice-cold craft beers on tap. Everything you could want before dinner, after dinner, or for your night on the town.

Our approach to the hospitality business is clear: We avoid gimmicks and passing trends in favor of a consistent commitment to offering superb food at a fair price, with friendly and professional service, all shared in a very comfortable environment.

While this may be simple to state, it is not so easy to accomplish. We get it right because we are blessed to have a dedicated staff that takes pleasure and great pride in offering and maintaining these fine traditions of Elevation 486.
